During a strange stick-up at the Shell gas station on Nursery Road in Linthicum Heights this week, it is alleged that a suspect pulled out an empty cup and demanded that the clerk fill it with gas.

According to police, at approximately 11:15 p.m. on Monday, July 3, officers from the Anne Arundel County Police Department were called to the station, where the clerk says a man walked into the store and requested cigarettes.

Once at the counter, he allegedly implied he had a weapon and began demanding that the clerk “put all the money” in a cup he placed on the counter.

However, the standoff didn’t last long, and the man was spooked when another customer walked into the mart, and he proceeded to flee in a silver Honda that was being driven by another person.

The suspect was described as being a White man who was approximately 5-foot-9 with a slim build, short blonde beard, a blue jacket with a hood, camouflage hat, black Adidas shoes, and dark-colored pants.

Anyone with information regarding the botched stick-up has been asked to contact detectives by calling (410) 222-4720 or the department’s tip line at (410) 222-4700.
